Last updated on October 21st, 2018Capcom’s action-platformer is split into 10 stages, the first being a tutorial or introduction stage, 8 main stages and then the final stage. Any of the 8 main stages can be done in any order you choose but clearing a stage will have an affect on other stages for better or for worse, so be alert on the select changes. Below is a guide for the last stage, the Sigma stage and it’s boss Sigma. I will explain each enemy and bosses you will face in this stage which is split up into 4 main parts. Mega Man X: Sigma Stage & Sigma GuideIn this stage you revisit bosses and enemies you have faced in the previous levels as well as some new ones. This stage being the last in the Mega Man X series combines the different fights together into 4 parts.

This contains Sigma Stage Part 1, Sigma Stage Part 2, Sigma Stage Part 3 and Sigma Stage Part 4. Each will have a host of enemies which you will need to tackle to make it through to the final part of the stage to face the final boss Sigma himself. I will explain each of the enemies you will face and the best way to defeat them in this step-by-step guide.

JammingerOnce at the top, you’ll have to deal with some Turn Cannons, Gun Volts, and Ball De Vouxs. When you get past them, keep climbing up the ladders until you reach the top, where you’ll then have to fight Vile. First throw the fight by taking damage as it intended to lose. Zero will then break free and enable round 2. Fight seriously this time by using Rolling Shield, Homing Torpedo, or Storm Tornado to take out lots of health from Vile.

This fight shouldn’t take long, use the dash jump to evade him if he gets too close. When Vile is defeated players will receive the Buster Upgrade from Zero if they didn’t already obtained it which will unlock a. Launch OctopusClimb up the final segment and use Chameleon Sting charge ability to grab the life item and avoid the last remaining enemies. The final boss of this part is D-Rex.

D-RexD-Rex is made of two parts: a top half and a bottom half. His bottom half cannot be damaged so focus solely on the top half. Shoot his top half with basic Buster shots or Boomerang Cutter. Be cautious as players can be stunned at the worst times. D-Rex’s top half will often detach and head to towards the player. Standing directly underneath it will cause it to come down.

Use dash jumps to move quickly between the cluttered area. At times, D-Rex may shoot a charged shot at you. To avoid it dash jump towards D-Rex when he releases the shot. D-Rex Sigma Stage Part 4 VelguarderVelguarder is Sigma’s pet, who has the ability to fire electric orbs and flames at the player.

He’ll jump onto the wall on the left, then dash towards the right, standing still during this will prevent taking damage. Once he comes towards you, wall dash over him and shoot him with the Shotgun Ice. Climb the opposite wall and repeat until he is destroyed. Players can elect to hide in the corners and wait for him to reach you and shoot him whilst falling. Alternatively, players can use their Mega Buster to damage Velguarder.

Any charged shot will make him fall back allowing you to get some basic shots in. Sigma Sigma Phase 2Sigma survives but then merges with a large wolf like robot. This fight is fairly simple but can be highly intimidating. Sigma can shoot flames from the center limiting your space. His two paws will shoot lightning above and below it. Making contact with it on the underside will cause damage to the player. Sigma will also shoot lightning orbs from one side to another.

To avoid it stand off center and dash through the empty space. At times, Sigma’s claws will travel diagonal towards the ground to attack the player. Jump over it and use it to take you higher to shoot Sigma.

Use Rolling Shield on Sigma’s face. When players are on the paws, stand closer to the wall when firing midair because if you get hit with the lightning you will stay on the paw and not fall down.
